THE PROTOTYPE LAB IS FOR... INNOVATORS

Powering Innovation

You see possibilities everywhere. A product improvement. A tool that should exist. A device that solves a problem no one else has addressed. But ideas need structure and access to the right equipment to move forward.

The Prototype Lab exists to close the gap between concept and proof-of-concept. This is where “what if” becomes “it works!”

You do not need to arrive with a finished plan. You need curiosity, persistence, and a willingness to try again. The Lab provides guidance, technical infrastructure, and a collaborative environment where experimentation is expected.

Industry-Specific Benefits:
  • Translate sketches into CAD models
  • Produce early-stage prototypes
  • Test mechanical functionality
  • Refine design iterations
  • Explore production pathways
  • Prepare visual models for investor conversations

THE PROTOTYPE LAB IS FOR... CREATIVES

This is where practical medicine meets practical manufacturing.

You create because you love building, shaping, designing, and experimenting. Whether you’re a woodworker, resin artist, metalworker, fabricator, hobby engineer, or creative tinkerer, access to advanced tools changes what’s possible.

Industry-Specific Benefits:
  • Experiment with new materials and professional tools.
  • Create custom components for larger products.
  • Integrate digital fabrication with traditional craft.
  • Improve precision and finish quality.
  • Produce limited run products.

THE PROTOTYPE LAB IS FOR... MANUFACTURERS

Streamlined. Scalable. Local.

Speed, iteration, and precision determine competitiveness. The Prototype Lab functions as an accessible R&D extension without the overhead of building additional in-house capacity.

Whether you’re refining a component, validating a new design geometry, testing fit and tolerance, or developing a proof-of-concept for a client pitch, the Lab provides the tools to shorten development cycles and reduce costly production missteps.

Industry-Specific Benefits:
  • Rapid CAD-to-Physical prototype workflow
  • Functional component modeling
  • Design for manufacturing testing
  • Ergonomic and assembly validation
  • Small-batch iteration
  • Workforce upskilling in advance tooling

THE PROTOTYPE LAB IS FOR... CLINICIANS

This is where practical medicine meets practical manufacturing.

You understand workflow efficiencies, patient safety gaps, and equipment limitations better than anyone because you experience them daily.

The Prototype Lab gives you a practical, low-barrier way to move from “there has to be a better way” to a tangible, testable solution. Inside the Lab, you can quickly model device modifications, adaptive tools, workflow improvements, ergonomic supports, patient-assist devices, and proof-of-concept solutions.

Industry-Specific Benefits:
  • Rapid iteration before institutional investment
  • Human-centered design grounded in clinical experience
  • Functional prototypes for pilot testing
  • Visual models for grant proposals or research funding
  • Early-stage validation before pursuing IP or commercialization
